How to Wrap a Cat for Christmas →
My cat would be outta there after the first move. But this is hilarious.

I am serious...
I just watched Airplane! on Thanksgiving for the first time in years, and I laughed out loud every time Leslie Nielsen was on screen. He always looked like he truly enjoyed the second coming of his career in those wonderfully stupid movies. In a Fresh Air interview, he said this about the role: “When I read the script I knew exactly what they were after. It was the greatest break of my life, in...

Oblivious Me
Me: I haven't been given my Thanksgiving cooking assignment yet, so I decided I'm just going to cook everything I would for our dinner and just cook extra of whatever I'm assigned.
Pete: I could NOT have predicted that would happen.

When Life Gives You Lemons, Make Won Ton Soup
I made soup tonight! Won ton soup! I even made the won tons! Well, I didn’t make the won ton wrappers, but I made the filling, and that was what made the soup. And I feel ever so much better now. I Really Want This For Christmas →
I figure I’ll get around to reading it eventually, but I think it would tell me a lot about myself.

News Hiatus Interruptus
The only thing I am allowing myself to read in the Sunday New York Times today during my little break from all things news is the Weddings and Celebrations section. I think I’ll be ready by next weekend to move on—perhaps the Magazine, as long as the cover feature isn’t political.

“Bringing you the most awesome, rare collectibles; Whether they be Star Wars, GI...”
– Ebay seller listing. Weirdly stumbled across it when looking at original 1960’s Batman Corgi cars. Does my younger brother run this as a side line? Sure sounds like it as all of the above were in his wheelhouse in the 70’s and early 80’s.

Debbie Downer's Back In Town
It is election day, and while we have done our civic duty (even for a couple of offices where we weren’t so psyched about the candidates), I am putting myself on at least a one week news hiatus, because I’m pretty dismayed at the country these days and their very, very short attention spans and their ability to vote against their own true self interest. I spoke to my parents...
